Pantless Is a Silly 3D Platformer That's Coming to Steam on July 2

Climb as high as you can, alone or with friends, but you can't bring any pants.

Some folks, like me, are variety streamers, playing all kinds of different stuff. Other folks like to play wacky games that are pretty much designed for streaming. Pantless from Pebbles Games is one of those games.  It's a 3D platformer in which pants-free players try to jump and climb as high as they can in an insane world. The free demo has arrived on Steam ahead of the game's July launch, and it supports online multiplayer (which might be co-op).

Pantless features:

Physics-Based Challenges: Master the art of movement with a complex physics engine that makes each step unpredictable.

Multiplayer Mayhem: Connect with friends and play through the chaos together in real-time multiplayer mode. Possibly even troll your friends by headbutting them?

Vibrant Worlds: Each level brings its own unique theme and set of ridiculous challenges that will test your patience and skills.

Customizable Characters: Express your style with a variety of tops, hats, and accessories—pants are off-limits!

Baby Mode: Not a fan of relentless difficulty? 'Baby Mode' introduces checkpoints to help you keep your cool.

We played the demo using a controller. The physics element seems to come from the character gaining momentum at a high rate, which makes it hard to be careful. The camera controls when using a controller are terrible in the demo. That might be a deliberate part of the game's wackiness, but I hope the developers will fix it ahead of release.

Anyway, you start in a colorful village that happens to have a bunch of buildings and pieces of litter floating above it, and your job is to climb as high as you can without falling. Players can climb together in online multiplayer, and friendly fire can be disabled by the host. Do you really want your friends to knock you down in a game like this? As for player count, the developer tells us that up to 12 online players can join a game, but 8 players is the recommended limit.

Pantless will launch on Steam on Tuesday, July 2. Try the free demo to see whether this pantless experience fits you.
