Last month, a small Australian developer called Timesea Studio announced that it would be making a Secret of Mana-style action RPG called Infinity Knights: Xross. Fundraising via Kickstarter was always the developers' plan, and now the Kickstarter campaign has begun. By donating to the campaign, gamers can preorder a console or PC copy of the game and some cool digital bonuses for cheap.
One of the main reasons we're excited for Infinity Knights: Xross is the game's couch co-op component. Here are some co-op details from the Kickstarter page:
The world of Infinity Knights: Xross is entirely cooperative. We want to make sure that there is not a single thing that you can't do with your mates beside you. This is something that’s really important to us as brothers. From within minutes of landing in the Kingdom you are able to run out and start a cooperative 'Adventure.'
Timesea Studio was also kind enough to share a clue about how to say the game's previously unpronounceable title. According to them, "it's pronounced 'Cross.'" Just thinking about how that could be gives me a headache, so I'm going to take them at their word - for now.
The Kickstarter campaign has already brought in over $31,000 so far - tantalizingly close to its goal of $36,696. Alas, an Xbox version of the game is not currently offered as a stretch goal. That's not as shocking as Capcom's recent Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection Xbox snub, but Kickstarters are a great time to fund ports to additional platforms, so it's still a shame. Anyway, the Kickstarter campaign ends on July 25, so be sure to donate while you can!
Infinity Knights: Xross is planned for release on PlayStation 5, Switch, and Steam (but not Xbox, argh) in late 2025.
