Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed Gameplay Trailer Debuts

Fresh footage and details have emerged for this upcoming game based on the hit movie.

Ever since Outright Games announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants Unleashed, the game based on the recent animated movie, we've wondered what it would play like. This one isn't a beat 'em up, after all. Thanks to the release of the game's first animated trailer, we can finally see what the action will be like. Mutants Unleashed will feature 2-player local co-op, and it's coming to consoles and PC in October.

Mutants Unleashed takes place after the TMNT: Mutant Mayhem film. The Turtles will explore the New York city streets (including skating, grinding on rails, and riding ziplines). The city features a day and night cycle and collectibles to find. Characters from the film who will appear include the Turtles, Splinter, April, Bebop, Rocksteady, and others. The Turtles themselves will be voiced by the actual actors from the film: Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, Brady Noon as Raphael, Micah Abbey as Donatello, and Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo.

The game will also feature new enemies and characters from the film's character designer, Woodrow White. The trailer shows off a hippopotamus mutant that certainly fits with the established art style. A hippo mutant called Hypno-Potamus was featured in the Rise of the TMNT animated series, but the game's hippo mutant appears to be an unrelated character. What other fresh and freaky foes will the game feature?

TMNT: Mutants Unleashed will arrive on consoles and PC in Q4 of 2024, and it will cost $39.99. Walmart will sell an exclusive edition that includes an early unlock code for a special costume. The Deluxe Edition will sells for $59.99, and the Collector's Edition will cost $199.99 (!).

In other TMNT news, TMNT Arcade: Wrath of the Mutants launched a few months ago, and TMNT: Splintered Fate is due on Switch on July 17 and on Steam later in 2024.
