PowerWash Simulator from FuturLab has enjoyed a steady following since it appeared on consoles and PC a few years back. When PowerWash Simulator VR arrived on Meta Quest, we were pretty excited about the new level of immersion that the game would have in virtual reality. It was actually really good! But sadly, FuturLab recently announced that the VR version of the game won't be getting future updates or DLC.
The announcement comes via social media posts from the CEO of FuturLab. As She explains it, the VR version of PowerWash Simulator wasn't profitable, so the company had to reallocate personnel to new projects instead of continuing to work on it. The Meta Quest version of the game still works and is available to purchase, but it won't get new content in the foreseeable future.
This news is a real shame because PowerWash Simulator VR is a lot of fun! I played a couple of hours in 2-player online co-op with a friend, and we had a blast. The laid-back nature of the game is perfect for hanging out and chatting with buddies. The game works great in virtual reality, too. Players teleport to move around, and actions like spraying water and selecting nozzles work intuitively with VR controls. Even though the VR game isn't going to grow in size anymore, it's still worth a purchase - especially if you have another player to team up with.
PowerWash Simulator VR sells for $24.99 on Meta Quest.
