As a part of the Steam Next Fest event, Forever Entertainment has released a free demo of THE HOUSE OF THE DEAD 2: Remake on Steam. The demo allows 1-2 local players to try the first level of the remake. Join James Taylor and Gary Stewart as they fight stop an army of undead zombies and monsters from taking over the world.
The demo includes:
- First level of the game
- Co-op mode
- Remastered music (with the classic soundtrack also available in the game)
- Modern graphics
- Gameplay faithful to the original game
It's an impressive demo. While the remake uses a modern, washed-out color palette (unlike the original arcade game), the enemies and environments still look quite nice. HOTD2 is a true classic among rail shooters, full of exciting moments and quirky horror touches.
The remake seems to feature the Original Mode features that were added to the Dreamcast game, allowing players to unlock and equip an arsenal of weapons and items. Although not included in the demo, the game will also have Boss and Training modes. Oh, and the Steam demo is fully Steam Deck-compatible!
