Bethesda has announced an agreement to publish inXile's upcoming fantasy action game called Hunted: The Demon's Forge. The game is a two player 3rd person co-op title where players assume the role of E'larra or Caddoc as you embark on a journey to find out what is corrupting the world - just a guess - but it's probably in the Demon's Forge.
Hunted is set to be released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC with online co-op play, and it adds a unique feature called "co-op at a distance." What is it? From the PR material it sounds like E'larra is a ranged and healing class while Caddoc is a melee and damage dealing class. This forces players to work together, but also allows spells, buffs, and other co-op attacks to be performed regardless of the player's relation to each other.
The game is being overseen by industry veteran Brian Fargo, who worked on such titles as Baldur's Gate and The Bard's Tale. The game's lead director is Michael Kaufman, who has worked on such titles as Redneck Rampage and Return to Castle Wolfenstein.
The game will be out later this year.
