Activision has just put out a press release confirming the name and release date of the next Call of Duty title, set to be unveiled tonight on GameTrailers TV on SpikeTV.
Called Call of Duty: Black Ops the game will be released on November 9th of this year, though the platforms aren't confirmed.
"We can't wait for our community to experience Call of Duty: Black Ops," said Mark Lamia, Studio Head for Treyarch. "We have focused our entire studio on this game, with dedicated multiplayer, single-player and co-op teams creating the most intense, gripping and riveting experience possible for our fans on all fronts."
And that little gem of a quote confirms the game is going to have a heavy reliance on co-op, or at least, a co-op mode. Dedicating an entire team to it sounds great. Perhaps we'll be getting a successor to World at War's Zombie Survival mode?
The website for the game has gone live as well, though there's no real content there other than a logo.
