Welcome to Beyond Co-Op, a weekly piece that talks about industry stories that may or may not be related to co-op gaming.
The stories for this week:
- Bad Mickey Out of Epic Mickey
- WoW: Cataclysm Beta Begins
- Crackdown 2 Only Notable Release This Week
Bad Mickey Out of Epic Mickey
According to Warren Spector, focus testing of the upcoming Wii-only Epic Mickey game garnered the opinion that they didn’t like the evil side of Mickey, a key feature in the game up to this point. So, Junction Point has decided to drop the ability to play Mickey as an evil little mouse and instead only allow you to be a good or neutral Mickey. Not sure whether this is going to be a good thing or not, but I do believe in Warren Spector and I am really looking forward to this game coming out later this year.

WoW: Cataclysm Beta Begins
Starcraft 2 comes out later this month, but Blizzard brings some more good news as the World of Warcraft: Cataclysm beta has begun and invitations have been sent out. I hope to look into it soon, although I have to restart a WoW account to do so I’m guessing. So far everything I’ve heard from people that play WoW regularly is that they really like this new expansion pack that one would guess will be out by the end of this year.

Crackdown 2 Only Notable Release This Week
I’m sure this game will be quite popular here on Co-Optimus, but Crackdown 2, exclusively for the 360 is really the only notable release this week. I’m sure many people will be spending hours upon hours looking for orbs and playing with up to three of their friends with this game.
Enjoy the holiday weekend, at least here in the United States.
