You remember our Top 5 Most Anticipated Co-Op Games This Fall? Several readers wondered why LittleBigPlanet 2 wasn't on that list. The general feeling among the staff that was while LBP was great, it wasn't the co-op that we loved; it was the amazing creation options, so we left it off the list. Sadly, it would appear that LittleBigPlanet 2 should have been left off for another reason: it's now been moved to a January 2011 release.
Here's why, according to MediaMolecule:
We’ve all been working like powered-up space ninjas and we’re almost there, but because we love what we’ve made, and we love our little sack-friends, and most of all we love all our fans out there, we couldn’t let you all get together until we knew we were giving you the best experience imaginable
With a game like LBP2, I personally am glad to see the delay. I'd rather have a highly polished product than one that was rushed out in time to hit store shelves during the holiday season. The first LBP got lost in the shuffle of excellent fall 2008 releases; perhaps this move will actually increase sales for the adorable Sackboy's second game in the long run.
