Trine has a real love/hate relationship with the co-op community. We loved it in our Co-Optimus review. It was solid platfomer for the PC and PS3 with gorgeous visuals. The largest and most glaring complaint was that it only supported local co-op, which is never fun with a PC.
A big problem with Trine is that there was general confusion on when and what platforms it would come out on. After a delay for the PS3 release we gave our impressions and discussed some technical issues that were easily resolved. There was supposed to be an XBLA version of the game that ended up being canceled. What will the sequel bring?
We swung by the Frozenbyte Community forums to see if they could shed any light on the situation. There we found this little bit of information:
We cannot confirm or deny platforms at this point - Atlus will announce the platforms once everything is "ready". (I can confirm PC though, that's a sure thing.)
However, we always want as many gamers as possible to play our games. Hopefully we don't have to wait very long for the confirmation!
A teaser video is available, and this game looks gorgeous. Back at E3 the story was that the sequel would finally incorporate online co-op. We'll let you know when we get more details.
