It's a good thing that Jonathon Coulton is still alive after taking a return flight from vacation, as the singer and songwriter tweeted that in his pocket was a new song for Portal 2. Coulton joked that if the plane went down...the song would be lost forever, luckily - it did not.. Coulton's fame was boosted by the first game when his song "Still Alive" became an internet and geek sensation, this was the first time it was confirmed that a song of his would be making a return for the sequel.
In other Portal 2 news, its been revealed the game will contain over 13,000 lines of dialogue - quite the stark departure from the original where the dialogue was few and far between, save for a few memorable lines by GlaDOS.
Portal 2 will be bolstered by comedy writer and voice actor Stephen Merchant, famous for working on The Office TV series...the UK one, not the US one. No doubt this addition is where we'll see the bulk of the additional lines coming from - though GlaDOS is sure to make a return appearance. You can hear some of the new dialogue in the latest IGN preview.
All of this news, combined with a two player co-op campaign and a confirmed April 21st release date, makes for us getting quite excited for Valve's latest. It'll be hard for Portal 2 to match the magic the first game created, but Valve is certainly trying with all of these additional features.
