The fireworks won't stop on July 4th. According to Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon's Facebook page, the game will be released on July 5th, the perfect capstone to a weekend of barbeque, sky explosions, and America. Judging from this latest screen, also from the Facebook page, the game's hero will have a grittier look than old swivel hips, Storm 1, the protagonist from EDF 2017.
Did you know EDF 2017 is a cult classic? I think we are obligated to mention that every time the title is printed. The page also says that EDF 2017 is hard to find, but I did some quick research of our own database, and found that it is currently available on Xbox LIVE Games on Demand. I even turned on my own Xbox 360 to see if it was still available, and as of right now, yup it's there, for $19.99. The listing says it has no co-op, but I can tell you from experience that it offers local split screen co-op for two players. That's some real research right there, and that's why I tell people I make the big bucks. EDF: IA will be available for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360. It supports 2 player local co-op and a 6 player online co-op survival mode.
