This dream is looking like a reality for XBLA users as PEGI have rated some titles under the banner SEGA Vintage Collections which include pugilistic marsupials in the form of Streets of Rage 3. Also on offer are the co-op friendly titles Streets of Rage, Golden Axe and Golden Axe 3.
The original rumor of the SEGA Vintage packs for XBLA and PSN came about after two Wonder Boy compendiums leaked. If the Wonderboy games are being released in twin packs it would make sense that the two Street games and the two Axe games would also some as a duo. The full list of games that PEGI have rated are: Super Hang-On, Golden Axe, Golden Axe 3, Streets of Rage, Streets of Rage 3, Wonder Boy in Monster Land, Wonder Boy in Monster World, and Monster World IV.
The current news item suggests that the games are coming to XBLA only, but earlier stories also mentioned PSN. Seeing as the likes of SEGA classics Sonic 2 and Streets of Rage 2 are already available on both platforms, Co-Optimus assumes the same for the Vintage Collection.
Until Streets of Rage 3 is actually released, I am going to have to get my Kangaroo baiting entertainment somewhere else - just off to the zoo to punch a roo.
