5 Best Co-Op Games to Livestream

It was back in 2019 that Twitch released the Squad Stream feature, allowing creators to team up with friends to stream co-op games in a single window.

Since then, co-op game streams have become more and more popular, with some of the favourites including Grand Theft Auto V, Helldivers 2, and even Monopoly Plus! So if you’re starting out on Twitch and you want to make it to the big time, then co-op games can be a great place to start.

With that being said, just picking a popular co-op game isn’t going to guarantee followers. We’d recommend to any audience-builders to put the work in, stream as much as possible, and expand your existence onto multiple channels.

With Twitch-friendly platforms like TikTok and an AI reel generator, this shouldn’t be too difficult, but the intent has to be there. Especially if you want a channel that has a community, rather than a few followers who tune in every now and then.

So now that’s out of the way, let’s look at the games you can start with and why they’re so good.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Huh?! Stream the game that everyone’s hating on? How’s that gonna work? Well, we thought we’d start with this game precisely because everyone’s hating it. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has had an incredibly shaky start in the gaming community, with poor reviews and disappointed gamers all-around. But the point is, it’s being talked about. Right now in 2024, it’s hard to think of any other game that is trending as much as this one, so making content where you and your crew play the game can be a great way to tap into that interest. You don’t have to like it, just steam it!

Palworld

Another trending game – and this time, for the right reasons – is Palworld. Created to rival Pokemon, Palworld has been lovingly accepted into the gaming community, appreciated for its in-depth open world and its fun, accessible crafting features. Basically, people like it because it does everything Pokemon should be doing.

Helldivers 2

We mentioned Helldivers 2 earlier, but it’s worth mentioning again because it’s still doing the rounds on Twitch. Released just this month, Helldivers 2 is the long-awaited sequel to the first Helldivers, released in 2015, and it’s fair to say it’s been a success. With excellent set pieces and a strong, engaging storyline, this game is a surefire way to immediately grow interest in your channel and get people talking.

A Way Out

Although it was released six years ago now, A Way Out continues to be a success, having entirely flipped the co-op genre on its head. This is a particularly good choice if you’re looking for a game a little more engaging and multi-layered than a shooter. In A Way Out, you’ll have to work with a friend to escape a maximum security prison, trying desperately to avoid detection and make your breakout a success. It’s an intense game, full of twists and turns, and it can make for an engaging – and sometimes hilarious – stream if you play with the right person!

It Takes Two

This is another game that has been on the block for a few years now, but it is still beloved by gamers around the world. It Takes Two is an action-adventure game that thrusts you into the world of Cody and May, who have been turned into dolls by a magic spell. It’s funny, heartwarming, and full of amazing platforming puzzles that can test your gaming abilities like never before. Perfect for a Twitch livestreamer, then!
