Details Revealed about World of Warcraft’s Next Expansion
Legion, the next expansion for MMO giant World of Warcraft got a ton of detail reveals at Blizzcon 2015 last week. It now has an official release quarter (end of Summer 2016), pricing model ($50 for Standard Edition, $70 for Digital Deluxe Edition), and pre-order incentives (free level-100 boost and early access by a week to the new Demon Hunter class). The Digital Deluxe Edition will have exclusives for multiple Blizzard games, as is becoming the standard with their Deluxe Editions. It will include a special Felstalker Mount and Nibblers minipet in WoW, a Felstalker Mount for Heroes of the Storm, special Fel Protoss Portraits of Illidan and Gul’dan in Starcraft II, and Wings of the Betrayer (Illidan Wings) for Diablo III.
It was also revealed that the beta for Legion will begin soon (i.e. in the coming weeks). To cap it all off, a full cinematic trailer was also released. Regardless of what you think of Blizzard or MMOs, their CGI trailers are always an amazing sight to behold, so give it a watch.
Further details also come from the Legion panel they had at Blizzcon. While one of the biggest draws will, of course, be the new Demon Hunter class, the expansion has plenty more content to offer. The new zones in Legion will scale, meaning there is no specific order that the zones must be explored. There will be world quests that strengthen the power of artifacts. Two raids will be introduced with the game, one with 7 bosses (The Emerald Nightmare) and one with 10 bosses (Suramar Palace). Ten dungeons in total will be added as well: 5 level-up dungeons and 5 max-level dungeons. This is surely just the tip of the iceberg, so if you’re a WoW fan, or someone who’s thinking about jumping back into the game on Legion’s launch, keep your eyes peeled in the coming weeks and months.
