Over the years I've played co-op with lots of different people. Primarily it was my brother who I played couch co-op with on the Sega Mega Drive, but eventually we both moved on to other things.

I'm very comfortable and content with the current gen, and I think there is even a little bit more to get from them before the hardware starts to show its age. You just need to look at upcoming games such as Bioshock Infinite, and recent titles like Bulletstorm and Gears of War 3 to see that graphics are still holding up. So, we've got an adaptive console of sorts - which is why it's held out for longer than previous console cycles. When you also start to factor in the price of developing, and buying, new consoles in the current economic situation - you start to see why, in general, I think we are not ready for next gen consoles.
That said, I have several other anticipated games which are co-op orientated at their core, but they aren't my MOST anticipated game.
I've built up a huge backlog of co-op and XBLA games to play, which will continue to grow as I've yet to get through any of them! Most are still wrapped up - this means I've got a lot of catching up to do. Unfortunately, life is getting in the way of my gaming - I've got a lot of reports and papers to write at work, I'm moving house in a weeks time and I'm going to start a new job the week after! So my resolution this year is to play catch up - mainly so I can talk to people about games without the fear of a spoiler coming through - it's been touch and go with some games so far (through my own fault!).
First of all, I should point out that I'm not really eligible to vote on a GOTY as I've only been gaming for half of it! Therefore, this is my recommendation for GOTHY.. Game of the Half Year.
