Peter Molyneux Thinks Skryim Should Have Co-Op

There's sort of an inside joke as it were around Co-Optimus HQ about how every game should have co-op in it.  Of course that's said with a healthy dose of sarcasm, but we do believe there are certain experiences that could and should be shared with others in cooperative form.  For some of our staff and community, Skyrim, would be one of those games.  It sounds like former Lionhead boss and Fable creator Peter Molyneux agrees.

The upcoming Insomniac title has solid roots in co-op

Co-Op Quotes - Overstrike Creative Director Brian Allgiar

Overstrike was revealed at E3 as Insomniac's first multiplatform game, one being published by EA.  We haven't heard much on the title since then, but CVG was lucky enough to catch up with the game's creative director at Gamescom earlier this month to dig up some dirt.  What did they find?  A quote that should make co-op gamers pretty excited for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 title.

Co-Op Quotes: Army of Two: The 40th Day

"Co-op is awesome, man! It offers a whole new level to the game where it’s not just about you beating the game and going through and killing enemies.  It’s also about the relationship between you and your buddy on the couch or over Xbox live… That’s what co-op is. Co-op isn’t about the characters interacting on the screen; it’s you and I playing on the couch or Xbox Live talking about stuff, engaging in dialogue, and working as a team to figure stuff out.  That’s what real co-op is." - Matt Turner, producer, Army of Two: The 40th Day

Co-Op Quotes: Dead Space Extraction

“We know a lot of people out there like playing with their friends, with their family, and so we wanted to support that. But the other reason [for the co-op play] is that we kind of wanted to move away from strict survival-horror rules – which are, you’re alone, you have to really watch your back, [and] conserve ammo all the time – and move more in the direction of action-horror.” – John Calhoun, senior designer of Dead Space: Extraction
