Dauntless, Phoenix Labs' free-to-play, Behemoth hunting action-RPG, is "Early Access" no more and rolls over to version 1.0 today. The title has seen a number of improvements and updates since its first alpha back in 2017 - including cross-save/cross-platform play, new weapons, new Behemoths to hunt, UI improvements, saved loadouts, a Hunt Pass, etc. - and there's plenty more to come.
It's been almost two years since we first wrote up some early impressions of Phoenix Labs' Dauntless, and there have been a number of updates and improvements in that time. The biggest, of course, is the recent release on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with cross-play/cross-progression between BOTH of those consoles (whaaaaaaaaat?!) and the PC version. Mike, Nick, and Jason hopped back into the game this week to see how things are looking in the world of the Shattered Isles.
Today, Phoenix Labs' vision of "One Dauntless" comes true as the action-RPG title is now available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, AND it supports full cross-play/cross-progression with those consoles and the PC version. Playing on the PS4 but a couple friends are on the PC and another is on the Xbox One? No problem. Get out there and hunt those Behemoths with whomever you want on whatever platform you want.
This past December, Phoenix Labs revealed that they would be bringing their co-op action-RPG, Dauntless, to consoles sometime in 2019. They teased at the time their vision of "One Dauntless," where the game would support full cross-platform play and progression. It seems that they will achieve that vision thanks to Epic's recently revamped Games Store.
The co-op monster killer game Dauntless will officially be heading to consoles in 2019. The caveat to this is that the Nintendo Switch version is set for ‘later 2019’ while the Xbox One and Playstation 4 versions are going to be ‘April 2019’, without an exact date yet. The good news, though, is that regardless of the platform you choose, this news brings the game closer to Phoenix Labs’ vision of “One Dauntless” where full cross-platform play and progression will be supported.
Phoenix Labs' Behemoth-hunting, co-op action-RPG, Dauntless, has been going pretty strong since it hit "open beta" status back in May. Per the developer, the title has surpassed the "two million player milestone." To celebrate and recognize the dedication of its players, there's a free expansion that's getting rolled out over the course of the next few weeks and will add a new Behemoth to hunt, new quests to pursue, and a new weapon to master.
Dauntless, the free-to-play action-RPG with some nods towards Monster Hunter, is set to hit its Open Beta later this month on May 24. Prior to that date when anybody and everybody can get in, developer Phoenix Labs is dropping a major update to the game today, and it's a pretty substantial one. Dubbed "Seeking the Horizon," this update includes an overhaul of some existing systems (like progression and gear), and an expansion upon others (like available quests).
The days of paid entry into Phoenix Labs' action-RPG, Dauntless, are coming to a close. On May 24, the title will shift from Closed Beta to Open Beta and will be available for all to play. If you're tired of those Tempered pickles in Monster Hunter, then now may be good time to take on some Behemoths instead.
Phoenix Labs' MMO-ish action RPG, Dauntless, gets an update today that includes some tweaks/improvements, as well as new gear and new behemoths' to hunt. This update is free for anyone currently in the closed beta, and will be a part of the title going forward.
After playing several hours of Dauntless Early Access (both during the Founder’s Alpha and the Closed Beta), I wanted to share some of my preliminary impressions of the game for those who have not invested in Founder’s Packs. It’s important to stress that since the game is still in Closed Beta, this is not a review, and I fully ex...
With the holiday in the U.S. this week, our usual Monday night crew opted for a Tuesday night stream instead. With Phoenix Labs' forthcoming action-RPG title, Dauntless, recently entering the closed beta phase, Tally and Jason decided to take it for a spin and show off their fine Behemoth hunting skills.
