No Joke Needed

Overkill’s The Walking Dead Is… Dead

Last week, Sony began issuing refunds for Overkill’s The Walking Dead as it was said to have been cancelled. Then, in a swift public announcement (via a quick and detail-free tweet) from the game’s publisher, 505 Games, they said the game is not cancelled, just ‘purely postponed’. However, the IP holder of “The Walking Dead”, Skybound Entertainment, has now said that they’ve cancelled their contract with Starbreeze Studios and so the game is officially… dead. (sorry)

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 1 and 2 Both Delisted From Digital Platforms

It appears Activision's license with the Marvel franchise has expired, as their recent reissues of the popular action-RPGs, Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2, have been pulled from Steam, the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft Store. The good news is that if you bought them from any of those sources prior to today, you should still have access to them.

Atari and THQ games stand on the brink

THQ and Atari Games: Which XBLA Games are Reduced or Gone?

Farewell THQ and Atari US, parting is such sweet sorrow.  As these two former giants of the game developing world slip into the eternal night, what will happen to their downloadable games?  If XBLA is any indication; some games will be pulled, some reduced and some not touched at all!  Voltron has been delisted, Yar's Revenge and The Undergarden have been reduced, whilst Warhammer 40K: Kill Team remains untouched.  Confused?  You will be.

Out with the old, in with the new

Happy Action Theater Delisted, Turns into Kinect Party

It's usually bad news when a downloadable game gets delisted. Even the worst games have their proponents (*cough* Kung Fu Strike). But today I report that Double Fine's Happy Action Theater (which I loved) has been removed from XBLA with no hard feelings or sense of remorse. You see, the recently released Kinect Party (pictured) contains all of HAT's content for exactly the same price. Since the sequel makes the original game basically defunct, I previously speculated that HAT would get delisted or dropped in price. Always bank on my predictions, people!
