Disney Illusion Island from Dlala Studios (makers of the most recent Battletoads) and Disney is a charming Switch-exclusive Metroidvania platformer that features 4-player local co-op. Today's "Mystery in Monoth" update ups the ante with a mysterious new adventure for gamers to enjoy.

Mickey Mouse knows a thing or two about platforming. He once braved the Castle of Illusion, and would go on to have 8-bit and 16-bit platforming adventures in the World, Land, and Legend of Illusion. Now Mickey is returning to his roots and bringing his friends along in Disney Illusion Island from Disney and Dlala Studios, which launched exclusively on Nintendo Switch today. This one features gorgeous cartoon-style artwork and 4-player local co-op.

After the word hit this past May that Disney was closing down Avalanche Software and ceasing further production/development of its Disney Infinity franchise, it was only a matter of time before they laid out their plans to bring down all of the online infrastructure. Enjoy your time in the game now, while you can, because next March, it'll pretty much be over.

While the future of the Disney Infinity series is done, there are still a few more opportunities to pick up some of the toys for Disney Infinity 3.0 Edition. In conjunction with the film's release this past weekend, new figures based on Alice Through the Looking Glass are available at your retailer of choice.

Disney recently announced that there will be no "4.0" version of their popular toys-to-life title, Disney Infinity, at least for another year. Rather than going through another upgrade that forces fans to purchase new Starter Kits, the title will remain the 3.0 edition a little while longer. In addition, new content, like the Marvel Battlegrounds play set that gets released tomorrow in the States, will continue to be released for this version.

December 2015 may mean another Christmas is on the way, but something much rarer is also happening, a new Star Wars film (and hopefully one that is not rubbish).  To celebrate, Disney Infinity 3.0 is releasing a Star Wars: The Force Awakens Play Set to coincide with the film.  A new trailer gives fans a taste for the expansion.

The next big play set for Disney Infinity 3.0, titled "Marvel Battlegrounds," is slated for release next spring and, as has been the trend thus far with these releases, will introduce a new gameplay mechanic. Specifically, the ability to team-up with friends to duke it out in an arena against other Marvel heroes/villains. The biggest news here is that this mode will support four-player local co-op, a series first.
