We've been waiting a long time for ENDLESS Dungeon, the upcoming sci-fi Roguelike from Sega and Amplitude Studios. First announced back during the innocent days of the year 2020, ENDLESS Dungeon is a very promising mixture of third-person shooting, tower defense, and Roguelite mechanics. It will also feature 3-player online co-op, making it pretty much irresistible to connoisseurs like us. Alas, the game has now been delayed from May to October, so we'll have to make do just a bit longer.

Sega and French developer Amplitude Studios have been toiling away at ENDLESS Dungeon, their spiritual successor/reboot of the classic tower defense game Dungeon of the Endless, since 2020. The wait is almost over, thankfully, since ENDLESS Dungeon will be arriving on consoles and PC in May. With a game like this that mixes so many genres, it can be tough to know how it will actually play. We spent some time with it at a recent press event, so we'll try to explain how it all works.

Ah, fall (in the Northern Hemisphere)... the weather starts to cool, the leaves begin to change, and the holiday video game releases loom on the horizon. While the start of summer typically marks developers and publishers hyping up the gaming community with big announcements for what's to come in a year (or two or three) via digital presentations and "Keigh3," the fall is when we usually get teasers of more immediate releases. For example, the September Nintendo Direct dropped yesterday and not only did it finally give a full name and release date for the next Zelda game (The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, May 12, 2023), but there are four new co-op games, two remastered co-op games, and one existing co-op title that are coming to the Switch within the next 6 months.

Split-screen co-op isn't the most common feature among PC games. Even less common are games that offer both split-screen and online multiplayer. Hence, Dungeons of Sundaria from Industry Games already stands out from the crowd. A 3D action RPG/dungeon crawler featuring 4-player local and online co-op and highly customizable characters, Dungeons of Sundaria is out on Steam Early Access and PlayStation 4 and 5.

Our latest Monday Night Stream takes a look at the recently released co-op Action-RPG - Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance. The game recently was released on Xbox One and Series S/X, PC, and PlayStation 4 and 5, billed as a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance from the original Xbox era of video games. 

One of the bigger nostalgia trips for gamers of a certain age/generation is the Dark Alliance series, which had their heyday in the PS2/Original Xbox/Gamecube era. These action-RPGs provided a Diablo-like experience long before Diablo III was even a twinkle in Blizzard's eye. Today, a new entry, Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance, has emerged for PC, PlayStation 4/5, and Xbox One/Series, and initial response is... well, it's not great.

With Endless Dungeon just announced, and Human Kind on my brain, we thought it might be a good timed to revisit the classic Amplitude Studio's roguelike Dungeon of the Endless. Released in 2014 the game puts players in the shoes of various characters in a tactical strategy game about saving their crashed shipped. 

SEGA and Amplitude studios have announced a new game set in the Endless universe called Endless Dungeon. The game is a stylistic three player online cooperative twin-stick shooter 

Minecraft Dungeons has had a pretty active update schedule since its summer release, which honestly makes a good deal of sense.  Loot-em-ups tends to live and die based on how well their developer can sustain a constant influx of new content, so Mojang's flurry of free and paid post-release expansions should help them establish a nice, solid player base.

There seems to be an ever-increasing number of games that offer RPG elements in their mix and there is a huge number of games in 2020 that boast an extreme depth to their  customizability. In this vein, Popup Dungeon has taken a direct approach upon launch, giving players "[o]ut of the Box: 1500+ abilities, 420+ items, 200+ fully-voiced enemies, 36 playable characters. ” If this sheer volume of options isn’t enough for you in a $24.99 RPG, maybe the adorable folded-paper design will win you over. Minecraft Dungeons has been out for about a month and we know that Microsoft had planned to bring more content to the game via DLC. That first piece of content is now available for Hero Pass owners, or available separately for a price of $4.99. So what is it? It's called Jungle Awakens and it's a whole new area and motif to explore.
