It’s about time Earthworm Jim HD makes its way over to the Playstation Network. In his high-def form, Earthworm Jim has been on the Xbox LIVE Arcade for, well, quite some time. European PSN users can get their Jim on at any time now, and within the week U.S. PSN will also have their hands on that super suit, with some pretty interesting co-op I might add.
Everyone's favorite worm is back in HD in Earthworm Jim HD for XBLA. We take the colorful remake for a spin and check out the brand new cooperative mode and levels. Is this game full of that awesome plasma, or should we launch it into space along with some cows?
Earthworm Jim has made the leap to HD, looks incredible, and has a few things he'd like to say to the Download co-op crowd. We'll also take a look at the Summer of Arcade lineup, hyping ourselves up for a great upcoming July.
There's two co-op releases this week both from long standing and popular franchises.
I don't know about you guys, but the beginning of the summer is always full of "I've been meaning to do this, let's get it done!" and left very little time for gaming. So, instead of my general impressions on a downloadable title, let us now take a look at the lineup for this summer.
I would be lying if I said I wasn't keeping an eye on Earthworm Jim HD since I first heard about it a few months ago. Hot on the heals of the news the game would have co-op is a brand new trailer of the game in motion. Earthworm Jim is a classic to most of us gamers of the Sega Genesis and SNES era, enjoying the side-scrolling action of a quirky game featuring an Earthworm who stumbles on a suit that gives him a body, and extra powers.
Holy Oligochaetas! It appears as if the HD remake of one of the greatest Sega Genesis platformers, that's Earthworm Jim, will not only be getting spiffy updated graphics (shown above) but it will be adding a four player co-op mode! The game was delayed from a 2009 release in order to add the co-op mode in.
