Do you not have enough Xbox LIVE in your life?  When you're at your weekly iOMGApple! meeting, are you curious as to what your 360 friends are playing?  Are you playing Infinity Blade 2 right frick'n now, but you refuse to put it down unless your elderly piano tutor, "ALurBLZbLNGS2MeH," is ready to throw down on some Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 console carnage?  Are you at work, and you want to see if your husband is really taking care of the baby, and not slogging his way through his 200th hour of Dark Souls?  Well there's an app for that!

The free to play Capcom Arcade App on iOS has gotten an update and included with it is two brand new classic games that feature co-op multiplayer.  Final Fight, the side scrolling beat em up has been added and features two player local co-op via Bluetooth.  Another game added to the library is 1943, the classic SHMUP also features two player co-op vide bluetooth.  To gain access to either game simply download or update to the latest version of the app.

It’s true that the seasons are changing. Warmer weather is all around us, flowers are blossoming, and it’s nice to just get out of the house on occasion. What does that mean? This issue of On the Download will be addressing very portable iPad and iPod Touch/iPhone games for download, and co-op play.

As Apple's iPhone and iPad get more and more games, it's only natural that more and more co-op titles are in the mix.  One such game, adding in a co-op mode via expansion, is Tilt to Live.  As you can tell from the screenshot above, Tilt to Live has a definite Geometry Wars feel to it.  And believe me when I say, that is a very good thing.  The new expansion, appropriately titled "Viva la Co-Op", allows for two players to connect via local wi-fi or Bluetooth.  One player controls the motion of the ship, while the other is in charge of the turret itself.  Tilt to Live will set you back $2.99, and the expansion clocks in at an affordable 99 cents.  Check out the trailer below.

Good news, iGamers!  Co-Optimus has recently confirmed that Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light has co-op on the iPhone and iPad.  We loved this isometric action title, which got a great co-op review.  The iOS versions are identical to the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade versions, minus the DLC.  Co-op is available through wi-fi between any of the devices - that means iPhone gamers can play with iPad gamers and vice versa.

Exiting news for Tower Defense fans, Dungeon Defenders: First Wave, the tower defense/RPG hybrid from Trendy Entertainment is hitting iOS tomorrow on both iPhones and iPod Touches.  The game is a precursor to the full fledged title that will be hitting Xbox Live, PSN, and PC next year.  

This week was a big week for owners of iPhones and iPod Touches.  Not only did the truly excellent and jaw dropping Infinity Blade hit the device, but a sequel to an incredibly popular RPG was released - and it added online co-op play.

Streets of Rage and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 came out for iPhones and iPod Touches earlier this year - and while both games helped you relive the classic Sega Genesis titles - they were missing one key piece - co-op.

Today, Indie-ana Co-Op goes on an adventure in the wide world of iPhone/iPad gaming. The common theme for this installment? Zombies. Two different takes on the theme are investigated: Tweet Defense and Alive 4-Ever Returns.

We've covered Tweet Defense a couple times here at Co-Optimus.  It's an odd blend of Tower Defense, zombies, and social networking via Twitter.  These are three things I generally enjoy very much, but I never took the plunge and checked it out.  Today, there's no excuse, as Tweet Defense is available at no charge for one day only.  The game is available for the iPhone/iPod here, and for iPad users right here.  Since your effectiveness in game is boosted by your Twitter stats, why not go ahead and follow Co-Optimus on Twitter, if you haven't already, and check out the staff page and follow us there as well!
