You know, I'm really starting to like reporting on news for LEGO games. The stories are never life-changing, per se, but there's something comforting in the knowledge that, no matter what's going on in the world, Traveller's Tales is somewhere out there figuring out a way to condense a beloved (or relatively unknown) character into a virtual minifigure.
We're getting ever closer to the holiday season and that means the bigger game releases are starting to wind down for the year. This week, we've got LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 on all the modern platforms, Rocket League on the Switch, and Star Wars: Battlefront II on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, though it's worth noting that only the console versions of the game support co-op per our site's definition.
The LEGO games are very agile at grabbing the latest developments in the Marvel universe and making good use of them; be that adding the Guardians of the Galaxy or, like here, introducing The Inhumans. This family group live off planet and are getting their own TV show. Not one to miss out on the latest tie in, Black Bolt and co. feature in the latest trailer for the LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2.
Hello? Is anyone there? I think... I think I'm trapped in some sort of LEGO games purgatory. Maybe I died on my trip to LEGOLAND, and I'm stuck here until my soul is sent one way or the other. I suppose I may as well make the best of it, so here's the latest bit of LEGO games news.
If you're a fan of the LEGO games, you've likely played for dozens of hours as the main stars of their many licensed universes - Harry Potter, Marvel, Star Wars, etc. However, one of the largest attractions to the series, for me at least, is the chance to play as those oft-forgotten characters. The "Had A Fourteen Issue Comic Run" characters, the "Appears Briefly In The Background Of The Bar Scene" characters. You know the type.
Mayhaps you are unaware, but most of the LEGO games have a storyline and are not just hours upon hours of brick breaking and building. LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is no different and the Big Bad is introduced in the new trailer in the form of Kang the Conqueror (me neither).
Last week, we got a release date (November 14th) and teaser trailer for LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2. Yesterday, Warner Bros. and TT Games dropped the full announcement trailer for the game, giving us a good look at many of the playable characters. Playable characters appear to focus on Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Spider-verse ...
Come November of this very year 2017, there will be a new sheriff in town: Cowboy Captain America! While his affiliations with Hydra aren't known at the moment, what we do know is that he is one of the multitude of new characters you can play in LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 when it comes out later this year.
This week's "Deals with Gold" has a little added bonus: a Warner Bros Publisher sale. Until Monday, September 19, you can pick up the most recent LEGO releases, including LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, at a discounted price if you've got an Xbox Live Gold membership.
The second blast of next-gen is here, with Microsoft's Xbox One launching this Friday in many territories. Along with it comes quite a few cooperative titles. But don't worry, there's a lot of other games if you aren't ready to jump onto the next-gen train yet.
Sony's PlayStation 4 is finally here. Revealed last February the next generation console will be fans hands in just a few hours. Sony has released a Mega-FAQ to answer any possible question you might have regarding the system.
