Our normal Monday Night stream took a magical turn this week as the crew was finally reunited after what seemed like forever. With our wands held high we headed towards a game that would surely re-establish the bonds of brotherhood in Magicka 2. The sequel to the hit indie game that sold over 2 million copies on PC, Magicka 2 looks to make it a more approachable title than the first.
With summer about to begin and outdoor activities presumably taking over much of the gaming community's time, PC gaming retailers hope to lure you back inside with enticing sales and impressive discounts. Several noteworthy co-op games are on sale this week, including this week's release of Magicka 2, where a 20% discount lives at the digital retailer GMG cutting the price down to $12.00. If you spring for the Deluxe Edition, it's also 20% off at GMG after coupon, dropping from $25 to $20. (Though honestly it doesn't look like the Deluxe offers much so you should probably skip).
If the first Magicka taught us anything at all, it would be something along the lines of "if your friends had magical powers, they would totally flip out and make your body pop like a hamster in a microwave well over a thousand times." The fine folks at Pieces International have narrowly evaded copyright infringement by putting this latest trailer, detailing the various modes of Magicka 2, into an explicit homage of one of television's most currently popular shows. To complicate matters, you've got Magicka regular Vlad singing along with his constant assertion that he is not a vampire. Fans of the series will probably regard his claims as nothing more than a bold faced lie.
Brad, who is definitely not Vlad, who is definitely not a vampire, is having a rough time. He's paranoid, has paternal issues, he's schizophrenic, incontinent, and suffers from erectil-- ahem, that isn't relevant. His therapist thinks he just misses his friends. Brad thinks he misses his "up to four friends at the same time, casting spells, defeating enemies and journeying through an all-new story adventure". We're siding with Brad.

It has been quite some time since we've heard from the multi-colored wizards of Magicka, despite their plentiful DLC releases. Apparently Paradox felt the same way, as they announced during Sony's Press Conference yesterday that Magicka 2 will be coming soon to PS4 and PC. Get your crazy spell combining on!
