Another week, another XBLA sale, but this time there are some co-op game on sale that you don't see that often! This last few months of gaming have been kind to retro co-op games, and I can think of a few warm-n-fuzzies I've felt recently. This weeks On The Download will aim to spark a mushy retromance with some of the recent vintage downloadables. We also want to hear what you'd like to see remade.
On the Download is a new feature from Co-Optimus that wants to get you in on the low down for downloadable games. The meat of this feature will cover an experience with a current co-op downloadable game or DLC for a co-op game that I've played recently with friends.
Falling somewhere between "retro," homage, and parody, Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond does manage to recount a few golden gaming and co-op memories, but it also reminds one why the past is some times better left alone.
Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond is scheduled to hit the Xbox Live Arcade this Wednesday, January 6th and the PlayStation Network this Thursday, January 7th. The game will cost 1200 / $15.
According to Joystiq, we have a date for the upcoming two player co-op, side scrolling, comedic shooter; Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond. The game is set to release on January 6th on the Xbox Live Arcade and January 7th on the PlayStation Network.
Some more details are trickling in of Vicious Cycle's upcoming side scroller called Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond. The tongue-in-cheek game will support two player local co-op on both the Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. Players assume the role of either Matt Hazard or his sidekick Dexter Dare as they work through familiar looking video game scenarios like Bioshock, Mirror's Edge and Mario Bros.
The above screenshot may look like Mirror's Edge, but it's actually an upcoming Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network game called Matt Hazard: Blood Bath and Beyond. The character name may sound familiar, Matt Hazard: Eat Lead was a 3rd person shooter released earlier this year that had a lighter take on video games. Basically, the game was a videogame that was a spoof on videogames. It was fun and frustrating at the same time.
