April's Instant Game Collection for PlayStation Plus has been revealed and we can hardly complain about its offerings. Not only are a bunch of really sweet PS3 titles like Batman: Arkham City and Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, and PS Vita titles such as Pixeljunk Monsters Ultimate HD on this list, but a PS4 game that hasn't even released yet: Mercenary Kings.

Redemption draws near for those of you who have not yet experienced the chaos of Mercenary Kings on Steam. Developer Tribute Games hopes the four player co-op 2d shooter gets a proper launch in early 2014 on both Steam and PS4. Those chomping at the bit to play may purchase the title immediately while in Early Access on Steam for $14.99. If you somehow manage through this next year without playing this homage to side scrolling shooters of eons past, you should take a moment to consider where your life went so wrong.
The eagerly awaited early access version of Mercenary Kings is now available for purchase. Mercenary Kings is currently in development stages by Tribute Games, the people responsible for bringing us to delightful Wizorb and the creative genius responsible for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. As of now, you can opt in to the early access of Mercenary Kings by either downloading the game through Steam or through the developer website.
We last saw Mercenary Kings inside Sony's PlayStation booth at E3 2013. The Kickstarted game piqued our interest earlier in the year, but getting hands on with the actual game enticed us even further. The game combines elements of Metal Slug style games with that of Metroidvania to make for an addictive 4 player co-op title.
Nick and I snaked our way through Sony's overcrowded booth. Well, it really wasn't a booth - it was more like an impressive display of dominance. It was bigger than Microsoft's show floor, and it seemed to have many more games on display than Nintendo. Sony's E3 offerings were laid before us. The only thing separating our eager hands from our sweet, sweet next-gen experience was a thousand other event goers with the same hopes, dreams, and inflated expectations.

Tribute Games, the studio that brought us the unique Wizorb are winding down their funding for their 4 player local action shooter. If you're a fan of Contra, Gunstar Heroes, or Metal Slug you best be backing up this project because it is looking like an amazing action shooter.
The success of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Game since its release has been phenomenal. It would sounds like a no brainer to make a sequel to this game, right? Well, the game to follow it up isn’t quite a Scott Pilgrim sequel, but close to it.
