When the Neo Geo Mini arrived in 2018, it kicked off a wave of miniature arcade cabinets that continues to this day. Although the unit featured a fairly good built-in arcade stick and buttons, the optional controllers were widely criticized for their lack of microswitches and inauthentic button layout. Five years later, 8Bitdo will finally offer a much better control option with its upcoming 8Bitdo NEOGEO Wireless Controller. The new controller will work with the NeoGeo Mini, PC, and mobile.

Arcade cabinet remakes and re-releases are all the rage these days. The success of Arcade 1UP is a testament to that. And while we've seen mini versions of classic systems and games, like the NeoGeo Mini, what's being announced today from SNK is a big upgrade. 

The latest and greatest in run-n-gun gaming is now available to Xbox One users.  By latest, I mean that the game has been out since 1999, and by greatest, well... it is pretty fantastic.  Get your machine guns out and your calves stretched, cause as of this writing, a cool eight bucks can buy you Metal Slug X.

An arcade classic is finally coming to the PC: Metal Slug! Though it was originally a local co-op game only, the upcoming Steam version will include online co-op features instead!

SNK's classic run-and-gun-shooter Metal Slug 3 will make its long-overdue debut for PlayStation consoles tomorrow with a revamped digital launch for the PlayStation Network.

Shootin' time! SNK Playmore and DotEmu recently released a solid port of Metal Slug X on Steam. The enhanced remake (which is itself an enhanced remake of Metal Slug 2) features all the metal and all the slug from the original, plus a ton of handy graphical tweaks as well as online co-op for two players!

Yesterday, SNK Playmore announced that the infamous Metal Slug X is headed to Steam on October 2nd. A sort of enhanced remake of Metal Slug 2, Metal Slug X came to iOS and Android earlier last year. Now, PC enthusiasts with a soft spot for tough-as-nails side scrolling shoot'em'ups can revel in glorious, pixelated action as well.

The undeniably awesome arcade series Metal Slug is about to spawn another nugget of entertainment on the PlayStation Network. Developer SNK Playmore has announced Metal Slug 3 is coming to PS4, PS3 and PS Vita sometime this winter. It's time to rescue some innocents the only way we know how: by shooting all the weapons!

We at Co-Optimus like to highlight the latest games, but one of the wonders of co-op is how often you end up playing a classic with friends.  Recapturing that feeling of couch co-op with a sibling or pal is sometimes what gaming is about.  Therefore, when a stone cold classic like Metal Slug 3 is planned for release on Steam, we are going to tell you about it!

A sort-of-new release in the classic arcade realm, Metal Slug X is a remake of Metal Slug 2 that has been reworked for iPhone, Android and iPad devices. The game, which marks the fourth mobile Metal Slug release, features tweaked controls for the touch screen as well as altered enemy positions and maps, making it a much different experience than the game it's based on. It's also just one letter away from Metal Slug XX, which is totally not confusing at all.
