Ghost Recon Wildlands isn't he only Ghost Recon title to see some new content. The PC modding community often extend the life of many classic games by adding graphical or UI features that many players wish the game included to begin with, or adding new content altogether. ApexMods has released a 30 Gb mod today, titled "Heroes Unleashed," for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon that adds new physics, new AI behavior, and "hardcore realism" to the game.

The first official mod for the Xbox One and PC versions of ARK: Survival Evolved has arrived. The "Center" map, which was designed by modder Ben Burkhart using official modding tools from Studio Wildcard, is now available for your dino-riding pleasure as a free update. What's more, you can enjoy this map with up to 100 of your friends!

This week a new version of DOOM is released, and by all accounts it looks to capture the feel of the original. And really, if you've followed the mod scene at all for id's classic shooter, you know there's one out there called Brutal DOOM. From what we've seen of the new game, these two look very close in terms of style and substance.

It's a good news/bad news day for ARK: Survival Evolved. The good news? The Xbox One and PC versions of the game will add official mods (i.e., those mods that appear to be selected by developer Studio Wildcard to be integrated into the game) to the title staring next month with a new map designed by a member of the ARK community. The bad news? The game's official release date is delayed across all platforms until sometime this winter.

Wandering through the large, open world of Fallout can be a little lonely. Sure, you can drag along an NPC companion, but they will just stand in the line of fire, aggro deathclaws, and make you overprotective (looking at you, Dogmeat). NV:MP has a solution for Fallout: New Vegas PC players in a free mod that allows for multiplayer.

After watching Bethesda announce and showcase DOOM 4 at E3 this year, I got the itch to play the classic game again. From the looks of things, id is going back to a classic formula of speed and brutality over the slow and careful pace that DOOM 3 gave us.

The new DOOM was revealed last week at QuakeCON, with an event attendee only demonstration that showcased the new game. While we can't see what was shown, PC Gamer has some impressions of what was on display - and it sounds like the game is returning to the roots of arcade, over the top gore filled gameplay. But despite the fourth DOOM game coming, people are still playing and modding the original; which is still one of the greatest co-op games ever made.

Co-op play is usually an afterthought in RTS games. The Command and Conquer series may have flirted with co-op campaigns in the past, but normally our beloved humans versus robot play is relegated to a skirmish mode. Well, the folks down at TyrZ got fed up playing through story missions by themselves, and produced a co-op Campaign mod for the original Starcraft.

Old-style Spelunky plus online co-op sounds like a grand idea! A modder by the name of Vadim has been toying with Spelunky Classic's source code for a few months, backporting features from its bigger, brighter brother Spelunky HD. The best feature is actually new to the series: online-enabled co-op play for two players, all for the nice price of free!

There's a new survival map available for Left 4 Dead 2 on PC called Helm's Deep Reborn.  It's based off the fortress featured in the second Lord of the Rings movie, The Two Towers.  The map is available via the Steam Workshop and you can play it via official Valve servers.

The internet can be an awesome place from time to time. I never cease to be amazed at the sheer ingenuity and dedication of fans who are passionate about their interests, and today we have a great video game example of this phenomena. Super Mario 64 was an instant classic when it was released in 1996, and it was incredibly influential to the 3D platforming genre. Great as it was, though, it was missing one thing... co-op! Even the remake for Nintendo's DS system didn't fix this tragic flaw.
