Last month, a small Australian developer called Timesea Studio announced that it would be making a Secret of Mana-style action RPG called Infinity Knights: Xross. Fundraising via Kickstarter was always the developers' plan, and now the Kickstarter campaign has begun. By donating to the campaign, gamers can preorder a console or PC copy of the game and some cool digital bonuses for cheap.
The home arcade market has seen numerous ups and downs in recent years. iiRcade went out of business, but Arcade1Up is still limping along. Now Evercade, maker of cartridge-based home and portable consoles, is throwing its hat into the ring. The Evercade Alpha will launch with two models, one focused on Street Fighter games and one filled with Capcom arcade classics (including several co-op titles). They both play regular Evercade cartridges too, making for an exciting home arcade experience.
All the cool RPGs are going 3-player co-op these days. First, Sea of Stars announced its co-op mode earlier this year. This week, everybody who's anybody is playing Spidersaurs, a run-and-gun shooter from WayForward. Preorders have just opened up on Xbox for a similar game, though: Knights & Guns from Polish developer Baltoro Games (makers of Urban Flow). Knights & Guns is a single-screen shooter/platformer in the style of Pang Adventures. Already available on Switch and iiRcade, it's due out on Xbox in September, complete with 2-player local co-op.
The original Capcom Arcade Stadium is a collection of 32 arcade classics from Capcom spanning 1984-2001. Capcom has a lot more arcade titles than that, though, hence the upcoming release of Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium. The main collection will be a free download with one included co-op game: SonSon. Pang Adventures, the last game in the Pang/Buster Bros. series, came out way back in 2016. It featured unique gameplay that combined elements of shoot 'em up and platformer. That style of game will finally make a return thanks to Baltoro Games, makers of Urban Flow. Their next game, Knights & Guns, is inspired by Pang and Metal Slug (a cool pedigree indeed), and it will feature local co-op.
Arcade1Up has made it possible for nostalgic gamers to build their own arcades at home thanks to its ever-growing line of 3/4-scale arcade cabinets. Today, the company announced a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time cabinet as well as the Street Fighter II Big Blue Arcade Machine, which counts a handful of co-op classics among its roster.

In the upcoming game from WB Montreal, we find the caped crusader has died. Now, with a new threat emerging in Gotham, players will be able to play as members of the Bat-family - Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin and Redhood - in order to stop the mysterious evil. This will be the first non-Lego DC game to feature 2-player co-op when it releases on the PC, Xbox One, the upcoming Xbox Series’, Playstation 4, and Playstation 5 sometime in 2021.
