June brings lots of announcements from the big game publishers every year, and this one is no different. Microsoft's Games Showcase was stronger than usual, but what about the Big N? Well, Nintendo adopted a "more is more" approach with today's Nintendo Direct, showcasing dozens and dozens of games for brief periods of time. There are definitely lots of games to get excited about, including the impending Star Fox, Nintendo Switch Sports Resort, and the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time!

Rayman's 30th anniversary celebrations continue as Ubisoft announced today they are remastering their 2013 platformer Rayman Legends as Rayman Legends Retold. Alongside a graphical overhaul, a shift from the UbiArt Framework engine to Snowdrop, and fully voiced characters and cutscenes, this "reimagining" will feature a new story, new "dragon ride" levels, and a new realm to explore. I was invited to participate in a remote hands-on preview of a work-in-progress build of the game recently, and I came away feeling overall positive about the game's revitalized return.

A little delayed this week on word of the new co-op releases; it's fair to blame Destiny 2 and trying to get "Raid ready." Just because I'm loot shooting, though, that doesn't mean the co-op releases stop! This week we've got Pro Evolution Soccer 2018, Divinity: Original Sin II, Rayman Legends: Definitive Edition, and more!

If you are looking to add to your Xbox collection both for Xbox One and Xbox 360, look no further than Microsoft's massive sale on Xbox games. Major Nelson posted today on his website the sale, which includes some of the very best for Co-Op including Gears of War 4, Rayman Legends, Borderlands the Handsome Collection and many more. If playing games without friends is something you are more interested in, the sale has you covered, including multiple Assassin's Creed titles, I am Bread, Far Cry 4 and many more.

Just a meager handful of games were shown off at the Nintendo Switch unveiling this January. Disappointing, but some publishers have stepped up to show their support for the portable/console system. Days after the presentation, Ubisoft announced three games for Switch, one of which is a definitive edition of our favorite armless co-op experience, Rayman Legends.

Now you can play one of the best platformers of the last generation of consoles on the current one. In a tweet last Thursday, Major Nelson announced that Rayman Origins has been added to the list of backwards compatible games for the Xbox One. 

We associate deep discounts on video games with seasonal events. You know it's Christmas when the Steam Sale goes into overdrive. Or you know summer is raging on when PSN slashes prices. I guess the folks down at Microsoft are huge fans of St. Patrick's day.

Hypothetical situation: you and your friends really want to experience the colorful 2d glory of Rayman Legends, but you spent all your hard-earned cash on an Xbox One and four controllers, and can't shell out for the game. Fear not, financially-hamstrung gamers! So long as you can muster the cost of a single month of Games with Gold, Rayman and his cohorts can be yours, free of charge, this March!

When Valentine's Day rolls around, there's only one thing on everyone's mind: saving money. Yeah that's right, I said it. Sony did too, so it's all right. From now through Monday at 9 a.m. PST, a ton of co-op and multiplayer games will be on sale for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita. Which games you ask? Many games, I reply. Many.

Those wacky Xbox guys have some big things planned for this year's Black Friday. They're kicking things off a bit early, though, with the latest Deals with Gold. Nearly 100 games and add-ons are on sale from now through December 1st covering both Xbox One and Xbox 360 titles. There's even a few co-op games in the mix!

Being a Gold member of XBL is more than just having to pay for online stuff and getting some free old games.  It also gives you access to weekly sales that more often than not include money off co-op games.  This week is no different with the likes of Saints Row IV, Smurfs 2, Call of Duty: Ghosts, Rayman Legends, Invincible Tiger and many others having money off.
