Free co-op for the whole family, single purchase required

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Launches Friend Pass

Ghost Recon Breakpoint was launched last fall to very little fanfare. It seemed to fly a bit under the radar, though, that's what a good Ghost does. To that end with everyone cooped up indoors and social distancing and whatnot, Ubisoft have offered players a great opportunity to enjoy some online co-op with friends - and those friends don't even need to purchase the game.

New Modes, New Options To Be The Ghost

Ghost Recon: Breakpoint To Receive New Ghost Experience Mode

When Ghost Recon: Breakpoint released late in 2019 it was met with a less than stellar reception. This in turn led developer Ubisoft to remap the game’s focus and direction for the future. We now seem to be at the first step of that new plan, with the impending release of the “Ghost Experience,” which comes to all platforms March 24th. As laid out in their post, Ubisoft’s Ghost Mode breaks the game into three modes: Regular, Immersive and Custom. Regular is how the game was released originally, Immersive removes gear levels and tiered loot so players can simply be Ghosts, and Custom allows players to mix and match different gameplay settings as they see fit.

Ghost Recon To Receive Support And Repairs

Ubisoft Lays Out Roadmap For Ghost Recon Breakpoint Content And Updates

The Ghost Recon series goes back to 2001, but due to lackluster sales of the most recent entry in the series, Ghost Recon Breakpoint, Ubisoft has been prompted to reevaluate their development and support for the series. While the previous entry, 2017’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands, currently holds a score of 79 on Metacritic and received critical praise, Ubisoft may have been a bit too eager to put out a sequel to a “live” game that was receiving new content into this current year. Yves Guillemot, CEO and co-founder of Ubisoft, even highlighted this in a recent financial update to investors.. In response to the lackluster review and sale combination, Ubisoft’s Ghost Recon development team issued a lengthy statement laying out the new support plan.

Check out the new launch trailer for a taste of its techno-military action.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint Is Out Tomorrow

Tom Clancy's latest fever dream is nearly upon us.  I can already feel it subsuming my own reality - spreadsheets are starting to display UAV data, pavement-laden interstates are becoming intertwined with mountaintop backroads, and my coworkers' clothing is being replaced with "tactical" vests.  Since we're already quite far along the path, we may as well usher in the arrival of Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint with its new launch trailer.

Great New Pre-Launch Trailer

New Ghost Recon Breakpoint Trailer Feat. Lil Wayne

Video game trailers that take a comedic approach can be hit or miss, but the new trailer for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint featuring Lil’ Wayne and directed by David Leitch (“Deadpool 2”) is a complete success. Not only does the trailer show off nothing but co-op action, but it pokes fun at the celebrity involved on a personal level, rather than just having him playing (or lack thereof) Breakpoint. You can check out the trailer below.

Feel the Bern(thal)!

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint Arrives This October

Two weeks ago, "Operation Oracle" dropped for Ghost Recon Wildlands and introduced a new character - Major Cole D. Walker (voiced by Jon Bernthal) - along with a couple missions featuring him. Ubisoft also teased that these missions would "challenge your perception of the truth [within the game world]" and that what you "discover here might very well set the scene for the future." A week later, that future was revealed as Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint and - surprise! - Bernthal will be returning as Walker and the primary antagonist.

Ghost Recon Wildlands isn't he only Ghost Recon title to see some new content. The PC modding community often extend the life of many classic games by adding graphical or UI features that many players wish the game included to begin with, or adding new content altogether. ApexMods has released a 30 Gb mod today, titled "Heroes Unleashed," for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon that adds new physics, new AI behavior, and "hardcore realism" to the game.
