The Original Söldner-X: Himmelssturmer has possibly the longest and hardest name to say for a side scrolling shooter ever.  Seriously, it sounds like you have a mouth full of hot taco beef and tried to recite Shakespeare.  But there's a sequel now, one that isn't as hard to pronounce, it's called Söldner-X 2: Final Prototype and it's an upgrade from it's predecessor in a handful of ways.

Slowly but surely the Playstation Network is building up a collection of co-op games for you and your friends to enjoy. The latest addition to this collection is an update of a PC shoot ‘em up game that was released a year ago, Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer (roughly pronounced zoh-dner ex, him-mill styurhmer), or Mercenary-X: Heaven Stormer.

The incredibly difficult to pronounce side scrolling shooter for PlayStation Network is now available to download for $9.99.  Soldner-X: Himmelssturmer is a two player side scrolling shooter similar to the Gradius series.  The game actually saw a PC release last year, but the latest version is all spiffed up PlayStation style. 

While top down shooters seem to be a dime a dozen these days, fans of side scrolling shooters like the classic game Gradius or the more recent Omega 5 haven't been so lucky.  Enter Soldner-X: Himmelssturmer.  I can't even begin to understand how to pronounce that, but my guess is it sounds something like saying Soldier Him Less Storm with a mouth full of bratwurst and beer.
