MLB 11 The Show Co-op Mode Details

The MLB The Show series is a popular baseball game series for the Playstation, often praised for its high polish and eye for detail. Past installments have only included single-player and multi-player modes, but upcoming MLB 11 The Show will contain a 2-player online or offline co-op mode as well! This mode will have players on the same team where they can choose who is responsible for the different offensive and defensive areas. In the field, there are four different controllable areas players can divy up: pitcher, catcher, infield, and outfield. Pitcher can either be assigned to one player all the time or can alternate between players every inning.

XBLA Deals Include Star Trek and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

You've gotta love the weekly sales for Xbox Live Arcade Gold members.  Well, to be precise, if you have a Gold account, you have to love them, I guess.  Generally, the deal of the week is well advertised, but sometimes, games are discounted without much hoopla.  That is the case today with a few movie-related games, three of which feature co-op.  These hidden deals are Turtles in Time: Reshelled for 400 points (totally worth it), TMNT The Arcade Game for 200 points (definitely worth it), and Star Trek D-A-C for 400 points (probably still not worth it).  Both Turtles games are excellent examples of brawlers, and the graphic overhaul on Reshelled is quite nice.  The Star Trek title, on the other hand, leaves much to be desired, as you can read about in our review.  There's no telling when these deals will expire, so grab them now while you have the chance!

New Lego: Pirates of the Caribbean Screens

Pirates of the Caribbean is the latest franchise to become Lego-ified.  The new Lego title is scheduled to release in May, around the same day as the fourth film in the series, On Stranger Tides. Lego: Pirates of the Caribbean will cover material from all four films and have over 70 playable characters.  We can see from the screens that the game will feature more realistic backdrops, similar to Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars. The game will have its standard drop-in drop-out co-op for two local players.  It will be available this spring for the Wii, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.  Read on to check out more images from the latest Lego infected game.

Epic VP Talks About an Annualized Gears of War

Epic VP Mark Rein recently sat down with Eurogamer to talk about the yearly release of Gears of War titles. Many gamers may cry foul, but Activision and Ubisoft apparently like the idea, and have recently begun releasing their triple-A titles annually.  (Call of Duty and Assassin's Creed, respectively.)  Rein seems to like the idea, as well:
