Though its been on Steam's patented Early Access since December, info out of GDC reveals that Dungeon of the Endless is destined to support four player co-op at full launch. Now all you need is three friends who are willing to endure hours of being devoured by aliens in loincloths in the dimly lit ruins of an ancient maze.
For those not in the know, Dungeon of the Endless is a Roguelike game with some tower defense and RPG elements thrown in. You play as the crew and inmates on a prison ship headed to colonize an unknown world. Only when your ship is trashed by the planet's defenses do you discover it was not unknown at all! As the survivors of the wrecked vessel, you must gather guards and prisoners alike to set up defenses and explore the high-tech dungeon you crashed into in order to protect your ship's generator.

The game is by no means finished and still has a lot left to be implemented, but the promise of co-op in a Roguelike is always an appealing notion to me. Traveling as a group to defend locations, or even splitting up to explore the unknown depths in an ever-changing and dangerous environment sound like a rockin' good time. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for new features from this title.
Dungeon of the Endless is currently available for $9.74 in Early Access on Steam.
