Activision recently announced that players who choose to pick up the digital Xbox 360 or PS3 version of the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will receive a free upgrade to the current gen. Grab both versions (essentially) for $60, plus more!
For a limited time only, those of us that purchase the digital copy of Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare may then upgrade to the Xbox One and PS4. There isn't any cross-buy here, however, so players must upgrade within the same console family. This should make the (hopeful) transition from last gen to current gen all the smoother to do, without having to purchase an entirely new copy of the game a second time. At the moment, PS4 digital versions are up for preorder, with Xbox One digital preorders coming at a later date. The Advanced Warfare Season Pass is now available for purchase on all platforms, however.
Additionally, all multiplayer stats and DLC purchases (like the Season Pass) will transfer for free, so long as your Xbox ID or PSN doesn't change between system transfers. The offer stands until March 31, 2015, so be sure to take advantage of it while you can! Remember, this only applies to the digital versions, not the physical copies.
At the same time, Xbox One owners will soon be able to pre-order and pre-download the digital copy of the game. Within each digital pre-order is the special Day Zero Edition, which includes two custom weapons, the AK-12G Assault Rifle and the Crossbow-B2, Double XP for November 3rd, and early access to the game an entire 24 hours before the official release.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare will release this November 4th.
