Back in the early days of VR (2016), Arizona Sunshine made a name for itself as an exciting zombie shooter. This month, Vertigo Games finally released Arizona Sunshine 2 on Meta Quest, PlayStation VR2, and Steam VR. The sequel promises lots of zombie shooting with a helpful dog companion, a wicked sense of humor, and campaign and horde mode co-op.
Features:
- Form an unexpected friendship as you set out on a cinematic VR journey of intense survival
- Experience the thrill of combat as you physically wield weapons, from shotguns to machetes--and flamethrowers
- Explore gore-geous, next-gen VR environments, all the way to the end of the f***ing world
- Discover all the ways to slay a Fred through a brand-new, next-gen mutilation and gore system
- Enjoy the full campaign from a new perspective with a friend in 2-player co-op
- Join up to three other players in 4-player co-op Horde mode, with additional free maps dropping across Year 1!
Based on the trailer, Arizona Sunshine 2 looks quite similar to Dead Island 2 in terms of enemies and environments. However, the dog companion, Buddy, surely gives this one its own unique flavor (to say nothing of playing in virtual reality). The trailer footage of a train-top zombie battle looks pretty thrilling as well. Steam reviews say the game is a little short and suffers from a clunky reload mechanic, but the reception has been very positive overall. You can't go wrong with both campaign and horde mode co-op!
Arizona Sunshine 2 costs $49.99 on Meta Quest, PlayStation VR2, and Steam VR. The $59.99 Deluxe Edition bundles the game with 3 DLC items: Exclusive Undead Buddy Companion, Exclusive Freddy Flesh Hands skin, and Exclusive Doggy Weapon Charm.
