The wait for Earth Defense Force 6 has been a long one. In fact, some folks say that you could stretch the delay between the Japanese and Western releases of EDF 6 around the earth at least twice. I mean, the game arrived in Japan in August 2022, and we still don't have an English version. That injustice will finally be rectified when EDF6 arrives on PlayStation and Steam in North America and Europe on July 25 of this year. D3 Publisher also announced preorder and early purchase bonuses:
- Preorder bonuses: an exclusive set of auxiliary equipment for Wing Divers called the “Reverse Core Type-N” and three decoys based on popular Vtubers Takanashi Kiara, Gawr Gura, and IRyS
- PlayStation pre-orders will include a metal-coated version of the “Nix” combat frame for the Standard Edition and a specially painted combat vehicle for the Deluxe Edition.
- Early purchase: Players who purchase the title will also be eligible to receive the Hololive bonus items up to five months after launch.
Having played the Japanese PlayStation 5 version of EDF6 back when it came out, we're quite excited to finally get the chance to enjoy the game in English. EDF6 has over 140 missions, weird new enemies, improved graphics, useful new utility equipment, and the same great co-op for which the series known. The game's online multiplayer mode utilizes Epic Online Services, it was recently announced.
Earth Defense Force 6 is now available to preorder on PlayStation for $59.99 for the standard edition and $89.99 for the deluxe edition. Steam preorders haven't opened yet, but you can wishlist the game now. With EDF6 due on July 25 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 coming in September, this is a great year for the Earth Defense Force!
