Get Warframe's Predecessor, Dark Sector, Free on Steam Through November 30

Now's your chance to play as the very first Tenno.

It has been a while since we checked in on Warframe, the space ninja-themed free to play MMO from Digital Extremes. Well, a quick glance shows that not only is Warframe still going strong, but the developer has a new game called Soulframe in development as well. Many of us have played Warframe at some point over the years, but far fewer gamers have tried Dark Sector, the single-player action game that takes place earlier in the Warframe timeline. Well, Dark Sector is free on Steam from November 27-30, so now's a great time to grab it up.

Dark Sector's official description:

Dark Sector thrusts players into the role of Hayden Tenno, a covert operative sent on a dangerous mission into Lasria, an Eastern European city on the brink of ruin that hides a deadly Cold War secret.

In the midst of this mission, Hayden is attacked by an unknown enemy and infected by the Technocyte Virus, a brutal bio-weapon that twists its victims into mindless killing machines. Surviving this attack, Hayden finds that the Technocyte virus has granted him powerful, inhuman abilities unlike anything he has ever seen. Now, he must evolve with his powers, survive and become a hero.

Throughout the course of the game, players will witness Hayden's transformation into something more than he was as he fights against the Technocyte Virus taking over his body and the effects it has on his psyche.

Dark Sector

You can grab Dark Sector on Steam, where it normally sells for $9.99. The free giveaway ends on Saturday, November 30. Dark Sector is Steam Deck compatible.

As for Warframe, which takes place in the same universe, it supports 4-player online co-op (plus large-scale missions) and is free to download on Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and Steam.
