Aesthetics Are of the Utmost Importance in Aliens: Colonial Marines, A Behind the Scenes Look

Alien movies are known for their gruesome horror, and having pushed the boundaries of Sci-Fi to where it stands today. Taking that into account, we think you should watch this video involving Gearbox’s game development of Aliens' post events in Aliens: Colonial Marines.

James Cameron’s Alien series turned the Science Fiction film industry on its head, re-defining the horror genre forever. Where he left off, Randy Pitchford, President and CEO of Gearbox, and his development team picked up and ran with it in a video game. With that, take a quick peek at a behind the scenes look at what the team is striving to do storyline-wise and aesthetically in Aliens: Colonial Marines:

Combining elements of FPS and Horror gaming genre’s into one hell of a title, Colonial Marines wants to be taken to another level of visual stimulation and imagination of the franchise could only do within the confines of a video game. If they put as much time into this game as they do with many of their titles, such as Borderland 2, we believe Colonial Marines will not disappoint easily.

“We’re Aliens fans, and we’ve taken the risk to tell the story of what happens next.” – Randy Pitchford.

Aliens: Colonial Marines will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii U, Windows, and Cloud come February 13th, 2013.
