I'm getting a real "kill all non-humans" vibe from early February. Dead Space 3 drops the first week of of the month, and then a week later we will be treated to Aliens: Colonial Marines. It must be hunting season for necro- and xenomorphs. Not only will both games feature humanity asserting itself as the dominant life form in the galaxy, both games will have a healthy supply of DLC.
We've already covered some of the Dead Space 3 extras, and we now know Aliens: Colonial Marines will have a Season Pass. That's right, at least four more downloadable content packs will be coming your way by the dog days of summer. GameStop has the season pass for the PC version of the game listed at $29.99. It's currently on sale for $26.99. What will the pass get you? Read on and find out.
Hungry for more Aliens: Colonial Marines? Purchase the Aliens: Colonial Marines Season Pass and get access to four downloadable content packages at a 33% discount! All add-on content packs are scheduled to be released from March through to summer 2013. The Aliens: Colonial Marines Season Pass will give you access to campaign content, additional multiplayer maps, new modes, character customization and more!
According to the description, we'll be getting a variety of content. Since the campaign features two player local and four player online co-op, I would assume any campaign add-on would do the same. The question is whether these are side missions or a continuation of the story. I won't be pleased if I have to drop more cash to find out what happens next -- unless the core game is great. Then I probably won't care.
I know we don't usually cover versus modes here, but following "Tactical Multiplayer" trailer features some weaponry you should become familiar with, as well as some alien attacks you should learn to avoid. We played a little A:CM multiplayer back at E3 and we really enjoyed the similarities to the adversarial mode in Left 4 Dead.
Aliens: Colonial Marines supports two player local co-op and four player online co-op. It be available on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on February 12. It will come to the Wii U at a later date.
