IO Interactive has announced the official release date for Kane and Lynch 2: Dog Day on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Set for the US on August 24th, and the rest of the world on August 27th, Kane and Lynch 2 brings thrusts players into the underworld of Shanghai in two player co-op. Back in early February, we got word that the Japanese version of Kojima's latest entry in the Metal Gear Solid series, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, was delayed. Unfortunately, we didn't have any word as to what that meant for the U.S. release of this four player co-op "sneaking mission," so we were left to speculate if it would be May, June, or even later that. Well, Konami announced today that Snake and his buddies will finally be making their way to the U.S. on June 8th. When Co-Optimus recently announced that High Voltage Software's The Grinder was coming to all platforms, and not just the Wii, we thought that it would be a high definition version of the First Person Shooter style originally planned. However, this appears not to be the case as a recent preview has the game moving in a completely different direction. We've heard the official word from Borderlands PR, setting the record straight from that fiasco that came from our announcement about a retail release of some bundled DLC. The bundled pack will officially only include Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot with The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned, and will only be released for the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the game.
While there are certainly enough new releases these days, of both the co-op and non-co-op variety, to keep a gamer busy for awhile, some of last year’s best co-op titles are seeing new life these days with expansions. Chaos Rising, the first major expansion to last year’s excellent co-op RTS title Dawn of War 2, arrived last Thursday and we could hardly wait to check out all of the new features it added.
