Round two of the Resident Evil 5 DLC has been released today. This chapter of the Resident Evil 5 addition takes you through Jills survival after Chris rescues her from the clutches of Wesker in the main storyline. You'll play as Jill and Josh to see exactly how Josh assists in her continuation of the storyline and it's bound to be a tense time. The DLC is titled "Desperate Escape," and is available on Xbox LIVE for 400 or the PSN for $5. This pack will also include additional characters and outfits for Mercenaries mode, which is also delectably co-op.

Sony announced yesterday, via their Sony Playstation Blog, that they have acquired Media Molecule, the development studio behind the co-op friendly and creative LittleBigPlanet, lock, stock, and sackboys/girls.  Given Sony's previous goodwill in providing LittleBigPlanet with the IP from other games they've published or released on their system, this kind of merger certainly seemed to be one of those "long-time coming" deals.  Hopefully, it will prove to be more co-operative than others.

Anothher month, another reveal for Diablo III that makes us drool.  The male Wizard is on display in all his glory at the official Diablo III website.  A few concept sketches and what appears to be an ingame model show us a spell slinger that's quite different from the fantasy norm.  No floppy hats, long gray beards, or shapeless robes for this youngster!  Instead, he wears some wicked armor, coattails, and a strange but still awesome helmet.  All this, and magic spells too?  We can't wait to use this fellow in a co-op session!

While it doesn't look like there's any co-op game modes to be found in the official trailer for the Halo Reach multiplayer beta, it does give us a good idea of some of the new moves you'll be able to pull off in the game.

In a follow up to a story we posted yesterday, Activision has confirmed that they have let studio heads Jason West and Vince Zampella go from Call of Duty development house Infinity Ward.  In the investor press release Activision also made a surprise announcement, a new Call of Duty game would be coming in 2011.  Not surprised?  What if I told you it wasn't a first person shooter.

I like to consider myself a Master of Bargains.  This is no proud boast, but the label given to someone who spends far too much time hunting around in bargain bins.  I am Samoza, and I am a bargain addict.  I love the thrill of finding a cheap game and taking it home.  Many times these games have been dismissed by the critics, but at £10/$17 who can argue?  With co-op in mind, I have found myself buying two copies of the same game so that I can inflict one on a friend.  The likes of Tom Clancy’s HAWX and Tenchu Z have been bought in duplicate for under £20; both of these were nice co-op titles.  Could my latest purchase keep up the standard for my cheapo buys?  Co-Optimus warned me that Fairytale Fights had its problems – was I right to dismiss them? I have often found that most games are better played in co-op.  Even something as repetitive and dull as the wobbly flesh men in Kingdom under Fire: Circle of Doom, are made amusing by having a pal or three along.  “What’s that?”  You cry in anguish.  “A wobbly fleshman,” is the obvious reply.  With this in mind, any game that is playable in co-op has some merit, even if it is a backdrop for you and some friends to have a chat.  As a man I refuse to speak on the telephone, but over LIVE, its just plain politeness.  Therefore, for a fun co-op experience all I need is a co-op pal and a decent server.

Ragnarok Online may be incredibly popular in the East, but here on North American shores it's dwarfed by the likes of World of Warcraft. Today we look at a portable version of the game for the DS, though not an MMO, but does indeed offer co-op play. Perhaps this will catch on with western gamers

A lot of people have been keeping an eye on the Borderlands DLC, but perhaps some of us haven't exactly been eager to jump on the digital distribution bandwagon. For those in that category, 2K games has announced a Borderlands DLC bundle that will include: The Zombie Island of Dr. Ned and Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, and the brand new Secret Armory of General Knoxx. 

Ubisoft's Splinter Cell Conviction is certainly shaping up to be quite the exciting co-op title.  While the game's main story mode is single player only, the developers are offering quite a few co-op modes for us co-op fans to enjoy, including an entire co-op campaign that sounds like it may run between 6 and 8 hours in length.  Well the news just keeps getting better as 1Up.com posted a Developer Diary with Patrick Redding, whom you may remember from last week's news post about how co-op is changing the games industry.  Though the video is rather brief, Patrick does bring up a few new points that had us intrigued.

Demon's Souls arrived last fall on the PS3, and brought with it an innovative form of co-op.  Besides this, the game was acclaimed for its brutal difficulty, and old-school feel.  It was quite a success, so rumors of a sequel are hardly unusual.  What is unusual is the release is said to be Fall 2010, which is a very, very short turn around.

Infinity Ward, developers of the well received and best selling Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, might be in a bit of turmoil with their publisher Activision.  According to reports Activision is trying to get rid of studio founders due to "breaches of contract" and "insubordination."
