The holidays fast approach and the Co-Opticrew is all snug in their beds.  Ok, not really.  Most of us are playing games or visiting family/friends.  But you can bet we're snuggling while doing it!

Kid-friendly, based on pop culture mainstays, simple enough to play with your grandmother, and yet still fun for "hardcore" gamers, LEGO games are great, and LEGO Star Wars is the series that started it all.

I've changed the date in our database of what seems like a dozen times for Serious Sam HD on the Xbox 360, but it appears we finally have a firm date for the Devolver Digital developed title.  

The November NPD numbers are out, and with them we get the stats of the biggest shopping weekend of the year in the United States.  It should come as no surprise that Modern Warfare 2 topped the charts with 4.2 million copies on the 360 and 1.87 million on the PlayStation 3.  Rounding out the top 5 were Assassin's Creed 2 on the 360, New Super Mario Bros Wii and Left 4 Dead 2 on the 360.

It's been a busy week around Co-Optimus HQ for Army of Two: The 40th Day.  In case you missed it, we posted a ton of coverage of the title from a recent community day.  

Capcom has released two videos showing the first set of eight new characters available for Mercenaries mode in the upcoming Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition and DLC.  

Stardock has announced the Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity pack.  What exactly is the Trinity Pack?   It's Sins of a Solar Empire and its two expansions: Entrenchment and Diplomacy.  Of course the latter isn't quite out yet, but if you preorder either it or the Trinity Pack you'll get in the beta for Diplomacy immediately.

Our coverage of the Army of Two: The 40th Day Community Event concludes today with a hands-on impression of the PSP version of the game. The PSP version of the game takes on more of an arcade feel than its console brethren, but it also offers a few unique features of its own.

The next piece of DLC for Borderlands is set to arrive in a few short weeks for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.  Called Mad Moxxi’s Underdome Riot, the content introduces players to three new survival style arenas to co-op in.  

The Tom Clancy universe in video games is no stranger to crossing and tie-in storylines. In Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X., two missions include air support for the Ghosts of Ghost Recon. There was once a rumor that Splinter Cell Sam Fisher would appear in a Rainbow Six Vegas game, although to my knowledge that was ultimately cut. And we've once heard Ubisoft mention that a future goal for the Tom Clancy series was to create a persistent world that all of the franchises contributed to, like a multi-title MMO*.

We get press releases all the time, and most are pretty boring.  But every once in a while, one comes along that blows us away.  Such was the case when we received the news that the next Game With Fame night features "Weird Al" Yankovic, and one of our favorite music games, Guitar Hero 5.  We just might wrap up and roll around in a roll of bubble wrap, we're so excited!
