Hello, and welcome to yet another serving of Weekend in Gaming! It looks like everyone survived Extra Life without too much issue, which is good, because it'd be highly ironic for someone to hospitalize themselves during an event benefiting hospitals.
I guess ever since Hotline Miami really hit it big, devs have been chasing that action/twitch/puzzle-y murder sim vibe that it had going for it. Enter newcomer Party Hard, which tasks you with killing everyone at a party (because it's 3 am and they can't keep it down) as sneakily as possible. The title got an update this week which now lets you achieve this task with a local co-op buddy.
I haven't played a ton of skateboarding games in my life, but I was a fan of Skate 3 (even if the co-op was so-so). I'm also not the only one that would love to see a Skate 4 despite the fact the development team behind those games is now long since scattered to the wind. At least I'll be able to grind all over again now that Skate 3 has been added to the Xbox One Backwards Compatibility list.
Some good news for all you fans of the "Galaxy at War" mode for Mass Effect 3. The game, along with Mass Effect 2, are now Backwards Compatible with the Xbox One, so you can enjoy the entire trilogy on the latest Microsoft console. And yes, it appears the servers are still up and running.

Who wants to build a fort?! Also, who wants to customize their character before building, then get owned by two dozen boss enemies attacking from all around at the same time?! That's the spirit! Versus is a freeform defense game that focuses on two things: lots of enemies, and co-op survival in a constricted world. Whew, intense.
RPGs are great and all, but since the beginning they've always been a touch predictable with their setting. A fact I just made up states that nine out of ten role playing games are fantasy themed. That's a lot of swords of destiny and enchanted potions. How about something a little different? How about something with lasers and cyborgs and, dare I say it, co-op?!
There are plenty of times where network stability is crucial, but none moreso than when a dozen zombies are bearing down on you, and your online ally is the only thing standing between them and your soft, succulent brain matter. Unfortunately, Dead Island Definitive Edition hasn't been up to snuff in the network stability department since it launched earlier this year.
