Last night we took to the stars in a co-op sci-fi game called Pulsar: Lost Colony. With a crew of five at your disposal it's your job to explore the galaxy, repel invaders, and destroy hostile ships. What makes this game unique is that every player has a job to run the ship. The Captain organizes the crew, sets the goals, and upgrades the ship. The science officer makes sure the shields are properly tuned to defend and fights off incoming computer viruses. The engineer works to balance the ship's power while the pilot steers and maneuvers the vessel. Finally, the weapons specialist makes sure your crew is properly defended. 

Like a horde of bloodthirsty Skaven, the release of Warhammer: End Times - Vermintide is fast approaching.  To help get players acclimated to their imminent doom, developer Fatshark has been releasing a series of "Action Reels" showcasing each unique class and how exactly they'll be sending scores of ratmen to an early grave.

Words cannot describe how surreal, how unnerving, and how entertaining the launch trailer for A Fistful of Gun is. I mean, live action gunslingers standing in the desert wearing huge paper mache heads. What else could you possibly want?!

Finally, hardcore farming enthusiasts can dip their virtual spades into Mother Russia's fertile soil. Farming Simulator 15's new "Gold" DLC gives you and whatever 15 friends you indentured into farmhand service a brand new virtual playground in Eastern Europe. Well, I say "playground." It really depends on how riled up you get about heavy machinery that can speed-harvest turnips.

There you are, naked and alone, just struggling to survive in a frozen wasteland, when a dire wolf sneaks up on you and eats your face. It is the height of annoyance and you can now experience it thanks to a recent update to ARK: Survival Evolved.

While I'm not much of a fan of sim games (where's the loot?), the idea of building your own theme park and roller coasters in RollerCoaster Tycoon World does sound kind of fun. Especially if those coasters are scientifically designed to induce nausea in your patrons.

Star Wars fans only have to wait a few more days to get a hands on experience with the highly anticipated Star Wars Battlefront. The games official beta is open to all gamers on October 8th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC. The Beta will run for 5 days and end on October 12th. Those who are curious as to how much space they will need to have free for the upcoming Beta will be thrilled that it will only require a manageable 7GB. Gaming on PC has always required a bit more space so those gamers will need at least 11GB.

Hello!  Welcome to another edition of Our Weekend in Gaming, a weekly series in which we tell you just what the Co-opticrew will be up to in our hard-earned free time.  Hopefully, you'll get some inspiration as well!  As of right now, the proverbial tea leaves seem to indicate that Sword Coast Legends is the way to go.  Even though the full release isn't until later this month, the Head Start program offers would-be adventurers a chance to test their mettle against all the dangers the Sword Coast has to offer (I'll give you a hint, most of it involves blades).  Should you be of the "Game Master" persuasion, though, you'll also get a chance to test your mettle as those dangers.  You jerk.

Ever heard of the clothing brand "Diesel?" If so, when thinking of that brand, do you also think of mechanized knights powered by a particular form of fuel, commonly known as diesel? Apparently the two are so commonly confused for each other that the forthcoming co-op title, Dieselstormers, will have to changes its name.

Rock Band 4 is just a few days from release, but you can still enjoy some pre-order goodies like exclusive tracks for the Xbox One version. Pre-order the game via Xbox Live and you'll get 12 songs from artists like Earth, Wind & Fire, Interpol, and My Morning Jacket.

Sometimes, you just gotta know when to give.  Project Spark launched late last year to decidedly little fanfare, perhaps partially due to its free-to-play model.  Despite Microsoft's offer to allow players a chance at creating their very own worlds and tales, the game never quite got a foothold in that creative space.
