Bring a friend along to enjoy this retro arcade experience.

'King of the Arcade' Will Open Its Doors on Xbox on April 11

In today's high-tech, social media-infused world, older gamers don't just miss classic arcade games. We miss the arcades themselves. That nostalgia has resulted in last year's Arcade Paradise from Wired Productions, and now Super Villain Games (developer of Doug Hates His Job) is getting in on the action with King of the Arcade. This one features numerous clones of classic arcade games, several of which support 2-player local co-op.

This 4-player co-op shoot 'em up is full of bugs, and somebody's got to exterminate them.

Blast Bugs in HEXAPODA, Coming Soon to Consoles and PC

Shoot 'em ups are always better in co-op, but most games in the genre only support 2-player local co-op. Not so for HEXAPODA, an upcoming shmup from TOMAGameStudio. This game, in which players pilot ships against an army of evil insects, supports 4-player local co-op. It's coming soon to consoles and PC, so get ready to blast some bugs!

Co-Op Monthly Round-Up for March 2023

Spring is here (at least in the Northern Hemisphere). The temperatures are rising, the birds are singing, and everyone is storming out the door to frolic outside. So, who is actually playing all those co-op titles that were released this month? Not our Database Manager, that's for sure. He's too busy adding and updating stuff resulting in around 150 new additions to the database this month. But who else is there? Well of course: you, the reader! You and your friends are the rebels that defy the norm and rejoice upon the chance to have a new experience in a virtual world! We salute you, brave people, and we see it as our duty to make sure you always know about your options.

Preorder physical copies of these exciting retro-style co-op games, if you like!

Deathwish Enforcers and Kung Fury: Street Rage Open for Preorder at Limited Run Games

Indie games make the most sense as downloadable titles, small-scale products that are cheap and easy to buy on impulse. Still, it's fun to collect physical games too, especially games we really care about. Two such games (both with local co-op) are currently available to preorder from Limited Run: Deathwish Enforcers, the 4-player run-and-gun shooter, and Kung Fury: Street Rage - Ultimate Edition, the quirky 2-player beat 'em up. These physical editions are only available to preorder/buy for a limited time, so don't hesitate if you want them for your collection.

We've played Sega's upcoming shooter/tower defense/Roguelike hybrid!

ENDLESS Dungeon Hands-on Preview and Video

Sega and French developer Amplitude Studios have been toiling away at ENDLESS Dungeon, their spiritual successor/reboot of the classic tower defense game Dungeon of the Endless, since 2020. The wait is almost over, thankfully, since ENDLESS Dungeon will be arriving on consoles and PC in May. With a game like this that mixes so many genres, it can be tough to know how it will actually play. We spent some time with it at a recent press event, so we'll try to explain how it all works.

COTTOn 2 - Saturn Tribute Co-op Review

The Cotton series of cute ‘em ups has always largely consisted of single-player games, starting with the 1991 arcade original and including the latest entry, Cotton Fantasy (AKA Cotton Rock/n/Roll). However, during a brief, shining period in the 1990s, two co-op entries came along. The first such game, Cotton 2: Magical Night Dreams was ...

VooDolls, the upcoming action action/tower defense game from SideRift and Tate Multimedia, is inching ever closer to its release on Steam.
