We're big fans of the Souls games here at Co-Optimus, as evidenced by our glowing reviews of the series so far, so when a copy of Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin came across my desk, I was more than happy to jump in. With a modified version of the campaign, all DLC included, and a graphical upgrade (for the PC and current-gen consoles, anyway), it's much more than a simple HD remaster; it might just be the best way to experience the game.

Here's a juicy confession: I really enjoyed BADLAND when it was first released on mobile devices, like, a hundred years ago or whatever. Great game, great artwork, just great all around. Not too long ago, BADLAND: Game of the Year Edition was announced for PC and consoles, hauling with it some neat upgrades, including a full-on co-op mode. Excitement mode... engage!

Sporting events are typically a chance for a family or group of friends to relax, enjoy a beer, and cheer for their respective hometown teams.  In the case of Dying Light, it's also a chance to catch four survivors in the midst of battling their way out of a madman's "challenge mode".  I put that in quotations because calling the situation housing the game's new DLC a "challenge mode" is not dissimilar to calling Vietnam a "puzzle platformer".

Four indie games are about to get a nice cameo in LittleBigPlanet 3. The creativity-infused platformer for PlayStation 3 and 4 has featured a number of popular characters in previous DLCs, such as outfits from Disney's Frozen. This time around it's all about the little guys of the indie gaming world. If you can still call them little, that is.

Logitech has sent over their latest and greatest gaming gear with both a gaming mouse and mechanical keyboard on the menu. After some extensive testing of the G910 Orion Spark mechanical keyboard and the G303 Daedalus Apex gaming mouse, we're ready to weigh in. 

Did you realize this year is the third anniversary of Diablo 3's PC release? That's a lot of clicking. Just in case you did forget, Blizzard has rolled out a reminder in the form of a cowpocalypse. Not a cow level, mind you, because that doesn't exist. Just, you know, cows. Maybe.

Who needs new games when you can have special editions of last generation titles?  2015 looks like being the year of the definitive edition and Payday 2 is hoping aboard with their Crimewave Edition.  A new trailer is out showing off what extras PlayStation 4 and Xbox One owners will get with this version.

At Video Game Character Career Day, it's not uncommon to see would-be heroes lined out the door at the Alien-Slaughtering Astronaut booth, or the Knight Who Kills Demons kiosk. Very rarely is there a line for the Virtual Trucker table since, well... Who really wants to haul cargo as a leisure activity? But watch what happens if we add the word "in space" to "a video game about the transportation industry. Also there are pirates there." The eight player co-op fest of Elite: Dangerous may not appeal to the vast majority, but if you're a fan, you're a super fan.

The world of twin-stick shooters has (largely) been dominated by two themes: zombies and bright, neon, flashy, trance, hangononeminutehavingaseizure polygons. Well, no more. Prepare thyself for Vikings with guns in Gunnheim!

There's a lot of "bundle" sites out there now, but there are a few that have been there since the beginning. One of the biggest is the indie game focused Indie Gala, which runs bundles both thematically and on a time basis. The latest Friday bundle deal is out, giving folks 24 hours to snag twelve great games at a solid price. After the timer expires the rate goes up and runs until June 5th. Included in the bundle is the four player co-op shooter - SCHAR: Blue Shield Alliance.
