From balancing to the game's original fantasy designs

Developer Interview on The First Descendant

The first open beta for Nexon's The First Descendant wrapped up last week to mixed results. While there is definite potential there, it's largely going to depend upon how the game gets supported and how the time-investment/reward structure for players shakes out. We were fortunate to get some questions answered by Lee Beom-jun, Producer and Head of Magnum Studio (the development team within Nexon that's working on The First Descendant), and while it may not lay all concerns to rest, I appreciate how committed and enthusiastic he sounds about the title.

Co-Op Monthly Round-Up for October 2022

Hey, you! Yes, you over there! You need to stop that! Another month down the drain and we once again didn't have nearly enough time to play even a fraction of all those sweet new releases this month. So either stop publishing new stuff or stop time itself. Doesn't matter as long as the result is us having more chances to play games with our friends. All those survival horror games hitting the Steam Store don't play themselves after all and now we need to switch over to the Christmas events starting up in our favorite titles. So even less time to enjoy that barrage of new games still coming.

This limited edition cabinet promises true arcade quality and 3 co-op classics!

Arcade1Up Opens Preorders for Killer Instinct PRO Series Arcade Cabinet (with Battletoads)

Arcade1Up has released numerous 3/4-scale arcade cabinets over the years, with my favorite being the Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Adder cabinet. Even the coolest cabinets like that one, however, only feature 17-inch monitors. That's what makes the announcement of the Killer Instinct PRO Series Arcade Cabinet so exciting. The Pro cabinet includes a 19-inch screen, SuzoHapp stick and buttons, and improved speakers. It will feature not just both Killer Instinct arcade games, but also the arcade, NES, and Genesis versions of Battletoads!

'Asterix & Obelix XXXL: The Ram from Hibernia' Unleashes 4-Player Co-op

Last year, we happened across Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All!, a cartoon-style beat 'em up featuring the beloved European comics character, Asterix the Gaul. That brawler was delightful, and, it turns out, only the tip of the iceberg. There are plenty of Asterix games in the sea, including the newly released Asterix & Obelix XXXL:...

Illfonic's latest 4v1 multiplayer game, Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed, arrived last week to scratch that certain itch you've been feeling for a while now. You know the one; you strap on a Proton Pack, pull out your PKE Meter, crank the Ray Parker Jr tunes, and destroy just a few chandeliers while trapping a class-five full-roaming vapor.
