This just might be the LEAST diverse Our Weekend in Gaming ever. Typically, there are many different games mentioned, but this time, most everyone is playing either Gears of War 3 or the Diablo 3 beta. Both games are the pinnacle of achievement for their respective genres, and, for those of us lucky enough to have the choice, it's very difficult to decide which to play first! I know, I know; it's a good problem to have.
Demon's Souls refuses to go gently into that good night. The painfully difficult action RPG was originally scheduled to have its servers shut down this October. While this would have had no impact on the offline portion of the game, the much loved/hated online components would have been forever lost, ending the player messages, bloodstains, co-op, and PVP which have made the game so successful. Atlus has decided to continue server support until 2012. A wise decision, considering the newfound interest that is sure to come from the release of Dark Souls, the sequel/not a sequel to Demon's Souls.
Diablo 3. I honestly wasn’t sure I’d ever be playing this game. 10 years is a long time to wait for a sequel, and technically, it’s still not here yet. After putting years of my life into Diablo 2, firing up the beta for 3 seemed surreal, but it definitely wasn’t all that unfamiliar.
It wasn't long ago that we told you that Beat Hazard Ultra was coming to PSN in September. Well September is almost over and there's still no Beats to be Hazard. That's because the game has gotten a slight delay, after all - it's a one man development team. Don't fret - there's an official release date, and that date is, October 18th.

Call of Duty: Black Ops is getting (what I would suspect to be) its final installment of DLC. The awesome zombie map pack, "Resurrection" goes live on the PlayStation 3 and PC today. The DLC will cost $15 bucks, but gamers who bought the Hardened and Prestige editions of CoD:BO can download it for free. The DLC features the new Moon map, as well as four re-masterd classic zombie maps. You can check out our impressions of it here. It's got zombies, space, and dual laser blasters. What more could you want? To celebrate the launch of this DLC Treyarch is having a Double XP weekend. Time to prestige.
Sad that you're missing out on the beta? Not that one. I'm talking about the beta for Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One. We've got a video that will give a glimpse of what you've been missing. A giant Z'Grute is attacking the city of Luminopolis, and it's up to Ratchet and pals to stop it. If this video floats your boat, but you still don't have a beta code, never fear! According to Playstation.blog, if you pre-order from Amazon between now and September 26th you'll get into the beta! You can also find the beta on RatchetandClank.com, while supplies last. He's back! Rich Knuckles, everyone's favorite helpline operator, returns in another ridiculous spot for Serious Sam 3: BFE. You won't find any moldy Nazi zombies or sissy terrorist organizations in this game, and he's not afraid to tell you to take your business elsewhere. His rejection only makes me want the game even more! The video features some chunky melee action, which is always nice. Oh, and stuff blows up. Go figure.
The next game from Hand Circus, creators of the popular Rolando series on the iOS is a game called Okabu. It's something we previously spotted back in June when it was called The Tale of Okabu. The two player couch co-op game from the developer is its first on the console.

Battlefield 3 is just over a month away and the multiplayer versus beta is kicking off in just days on September 29th, so our cravings for the DICE developed title grow with each passing day. While I managed to get a tease of the game's co-op mode at PAX last month, the small snippet left a lot to the imagination as to just how the co-op mode will play out. Today though, new information has been revealed describing what players will be experiencing in the two player online cooperative mode.
A new title update has been launched for Halo: Reach! Who cares (I hear you ask) when Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary is out November 15th? Apart from the millions of people still regularly playing the game, co-op fans should also take note. Some of you may remember the co-op controversy at launch, when owners of HDD free 360s could not play the game in co-op. This has finally been fixed in the latest patch, along with a multitude of other tweaks and twiddles designed to draw Reach and Anniversary together.
